About Ale Gambini
Alessandra “Ale” Gambini (1971–2024) was an Italian cookbook author, food writer, and recipe developer who shared authentic Italian food culture with audiences in the United States. From her Milanese roots to her life in California, her cooking brought together tradition, curiosity, and flavors discovered through travel, teaching, and family life.
The author of A Queen in the Kitchen and No Ketchup on Spaghetti, Ale believed that sharing knowledge in the kitchen could make someone else’s life better. Through recipes, demonstrations, and culinary storytelling, she encouraged others to cook with confidence and creativity.
A World of Tiramisù, her final and most personal cookbook, carries that spirit forward. Completed by her husband and creative partner, Maurizio “OTTO” De Togni, the book preserves her recipes, notes, and sketches, bringing her imagination to life through forty-four seasonal reinterpretations and her take on the classic dessert.
